JetBlue starts flying to Charleston, its first South Carolina city
The New York-based airline began twice-daily nonstops to JFK and a daily Boston flight on Thursday, and it plans a second Boston flight on Saturdays starting in April.

First Financial, parent of Charleston’s First Federal, agrees to merge with Columbia’s SCBT
The all-stock deal values the Charleston bank company at about $302 million. The combined company would be based in Columbia but take First Financial’s name and expand an operations center in the Charleston area.
