Hampden Clothing Co. is giving its distribution and e-commerce operations a building of their own.
The King Street designer boutique has leased a 6,867-square-foot stand-alone flex building at 2039 Meeting Street Road in Charleston for a new distribution and fulfillment center, SCBIZ reported Aug. 27.
The building will hold Hampden’s distribution operations and supporting office space, and the company is relocating there at the end of 2026, SCBIZ reported, citing NAI Charleston. The center is meant to support the company’s growth and its expanding e-commerce and fulfillment operations, according to SCBIZ.
The landlord is IDA-Deborde LLC. Sarah Shelley of NAI Charleston represented Hampden, and Edward Robinson of Beach Commercial represented the landlord, SCBIZ reported.
“It’s always rewarding to help a friend and longtime client like Stacy,” Shelley said in a news release, according to SCBIZ, referring to Hampden founder Stacy Smallwood. She said the deal “came together seamlessly.”
Smallwood opened Hampden in February 2007, according to the store’s website. The shop sells designer ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags and accessories, and Smallwood travels the world to choose its merchandise, the website says.
Hampden operates nearly 10,000 square feet of retail space at 312 and 314 King St., SCBIZ reported, in a building the store says dates to 1878. It sells to customers in Charleston and elsewhere through its King Street stores and its website.
