Joint Base Lindsey Graham, formerly Joint Base Charleston, has three repair and maintenance jobs moving through the federal contracting pipeline, according to notices posted between Oct. 30 and Nov. 5.

On Oct. 30, the base’s 628th Contracting Squadron asked for proposals to repair Taxiways Alpha and Bravo at North Auxiliary Airfield, the base’s training airfield in North, in Orangeburg County. The job is set aside for small businesses, and the squadron estimates it at $1 million to $5 million, according to the solicitation. It is looking for firms with experience in airfield paving, concrete work, striping, joint sealing and airfield lighting, the notice says. Contractors toured the site Nov. 4, and proposals are due Dec. 2.

On Nov. 4, the squadron pushed back the deadline for its next facility enhancement and maintenance contract, which covers flooring, painting and building system repairs, from Nov. 5 to Nov. 13. The contract will go to multiple small businesses, with a ceiling of $5 million a year and $27.5 million in all, according to the amended solicitation. Orders could run from Dec. 15 through mid-2032 if all options are used.

Both notices say funds are not yet available and that no award will be made until they are.

On Nov. 5, the Army Corps of Engineers’ Charleston District asked companies to show interest in structural repairs to the base’s TC Dock, which it estimated at $1 million to $5 million. The work includes repairing concrete under the dock over tidal water, wrapping timber piles in fiberglass jackets and strengthening a ramp, according to the notice. The dock may stay in use during construction, so contractors would have to coordinate their work to limit disruption to vessel loading, unloading and fueling, the Corps said. Responses are due Nov. 20.

The Corps said it will use the responses to decide how to buy the work, including whether to set it aside for small businesses.
