Nash Technologies, a San Francisco-based company that sells artificial intelligence software for managing deliveries, plans to add about 30 jobs in Charleston over the next five years, the South Carolina Department of Commerce announced Oct. 27.

The company is expanding an existing office at 7 Radcliffe St., just off King Street, that serves as its North American field sales hub, according to the announcement. Operations there are already running. The announcement did not include an investment figure.

“Charleston’s a city with deep roots in commerce and logistics and is the perfect place to build out our North American field sales hub,” Bobby Boyle, Nash’s vice president of global sales, said in the announcement.

Boyle said the company’s San Francisco headquarters is where it builds its technology, and “our new Charleston office is where we’ll build the team that brings this intelligence to the market.”

“With the addition of 30 new jobs in Charleston County, Nash Technologies continues to make a strong impact in the Lowcountry and beyond,” Gov. Henry McMaster said.

Founded in 2021, Nash connects merchants, distributors, and transportation and logistics companies so they can optimize, dispatch, track and deliver orders through a single platform, according to the state. The company powers deliveries for more than 1,000 customers in 20 countries, the announcement said.

Nash’s website lists Walmart, 7-Eleven, Woolworths, Loblaws and Alto Pharmacy among the companies that run their delivery operations on its software. It names the venture firm Andreessen Horowitz, known as a16z, and the startup accelerator Y Combinator as investors. In 2022, Nash raised a $20 million Series A round led by Andreessen Horowitz, bringing its total funding to $27.8 million, TechCrunch reported at the time.

The company describes itself on its careers page as “remote first.” The state’s announcement directs people interested in joining Nash to that page, at nash.ai/careers.
